Anti-Cheat

refuses to run online with EAC error ("cannot run inside VM"), you can force running it offline and it works flawlessly, additionally SeamlessCoop still works.

Graphics

the game actually permits 1958x1018 display (custom-EDID dummy plug), which is uncommon. Black bars in cutscenes due to weird aspect ratio. Works perfectly.

Performance

it either runs perfectly and sunshine/moonlight stutter, or not pinning my CPU cores makes it stutter, MangoHud does not show a stutter in the frame graph, so I'm pretty sure it runs perfectly.

Required Tweaks

run it offline, as you cannot start the game, you have to do this through means other than the settings menu, there is a mod which toggles offline mode, it does not require a mod loader because it is one, additionally I'm pretty sure you can just redirect Proton to launch the offline EXE instead, either through protontricks or modifying your launch options.

General

I do not know whether Windows VMs work, I have never tried.

Anti-Cheat

EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) not tested in official online mode. Seamless Co-op mod bypasses EAC entirely, no blocks or bans observed. VM detection behavior of official EAC online mode is unknown.

Graphics

No visual glitches or rendering artifacts. GPU passthrough works flawlessly out of the box.

Performance

Performance on par with bare metal. No crashes, no frame pacing issues, no noticeable overhead.

General

Tested exclusively with the Seamless Co-op mod. Multiplayer via Seamless Co-op works perfectly and is indistinguishable from bare metal. If you plan to play Elden Ring in a VM, use Seamless Co-op, it bypasses EAC entirely.

Anti-Cheat

Easy Anti-Cheat blocks the game from launching inside a virtual machine. The game exits immediately with an error stating that it cannot run under a VM environment.

Required Tweaks

Some users report that spoofing motherboard and BIOS information may bypass the VM detection. This workaround is not confirmed to work in all cases.

General

The issue appears to be caused by Easy Anti-Cheat detecting the virtualized environment at launch. Based on community reports / reproduced behavior
