EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) completely blocks the game from launching with the error message "Cannot run under Virtual Machine." No workaround found. EAC detects the VM despite full SMBIOS spoofing and disabled hypervisor CPUID bit.
The following measures were tested, none of them bypassed EAC:
- SMBIOS type1: Manufacturer=Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd., Product=B550 EAGLE, Family=B550 MB
- cpu: host,hidden=1 in Proxmox VM config
- args: -cpu host,kvm=off,hypervisor=off,hv-vendor-id=AuthenticAMD,+pdpe1gb,+aes,-spec-ctrl,-ssbd,+amd-no-ssb,-hv-tlbflush,-hv-evmcs
- /proc/cpuinfo no longer shows hypervisor flag
- dmidecode shows correct Gigabyte SMBIOS data
With the developer's chosen EAC configuration, the game cannot be run in a QEMU/KVM GPU passthrough VM. Full hardware passthrough (NIC, USB controller, NVMe) would theoretically be required but is not practical in a Proxmox homelab setup without dedicated gaming hardware. Borked by developer policy, not by technical impossibility.
